Elizabeth Newlin, MD, director of Menninger's Adolescent Treatment Program, will be one of the speakers at the Healing Hearts of Families: Skills for Family Members workshop February 14 at the Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston.
Dr. Newlin will present "Taking a Mentalizing Stance: An Approach to Restoring Trust and Resilience." She will be one of five speakers. Peter Fonagy, PhD, who has been a long-time Menninger consultant and who is renowned for his pioneering work in mentalization-based therapy, will also be a presenter.
The workshop includes breakfast and lunch; it begins at 8 am and ends at 5 pm. Five CEUs will be available for licensed chemical dependency counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed professional counselors and licenced social workers.
