Applications for Psychiatric Nursing Residency Program Now Being Accepted

Friday, February 8, 2013
Begin your psychiatric nursing career with Menninger’s Betty Ann Stedman Psychiatric Nurse Residency Program for BSN graduates.

Residents:
  • Work at a nationally ranked hospital.
  • Gain experience in specialty psychiatric care.
  • Upgrade their training during six months of a salaried residency.
Nurse residents learn to work on a treatment team, develop a treatment alliance with patients and provide a safe, supportive, therapeutic environment for adult and adolescent patients with complex mental illness. Patients are active members of their treatment team, partnering with the team to set and evaluate goals for treatment. Based on assessments and priorities, the team customizes evidence-based and biopsychosocial treatments to each patient’s needs.

Applications for the residency that starts in July are due by March 15. To apply, complete an online application and then submit a letter of interest, official university transcript, official HESI scores or Texas nursing license, two letters of recommendation and résumé to:
