Lecture Series Continues with Presentation on Mentalizing and Substance Use Disorder

fonagy-peter-2017-mentalizingPeter Fonagy, PhD, pictured, returns to Menninger for another presentation in The Clinic's Distinguished Clinicians Lecture series with Mentalizing and Substance Use Disorder, March 15, from 10 am to 12 pm.

 

During the presentation, Dr. Fonagy will outline the combination of mentalization-based therapy with addiction-specific strategies (MBT-SUD) to treat individuals with substance use disorder, particularly when co-morbid with personality disorders. 

 

MBT-SUD aims to tackle substance use by working toward abstinence and by targeting emotional dysregulation and impulsivity.
