Menninger Epicenter Architect Named Texas Firm of the Year

Tuesday, October 2, 2012
Kirksey Architecture, Houston, was recently named Texas Society of Architects Firm of the Year. The Menninger Mental Health Epicenter appeared in Kirksey’s portfolio of 10 completed projects.
“We’re excited about this honor, given that Texas is the second largest architectural market in the country based on the GDP,” said David McLemore, Kirksey’s executive vice president and leader of the firm’s design team for the Menninger project. “There were more than 1,400 architectural firms in Texas vying for the award, which was the first in our firm’s 41-year history.”
The Epicenter’s completed first phase features six buildings on nearly 23 acres of the 50-acre campus. Menninger moved May 1 into the campus, which is just about 10 minutes from the Texas Medical Center. To take a look at The Menninger Clinic’s new facilities, visit our virtual tour.
