Jonathan R. Stevens, MD, MPH, chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Menninger, will be a presenter at the We Gotta Get Out of This Place: Trauma, Adolescents and Families educational conference February 9 in Evanston, Ill.
During his presentation, "Assessing the New Research in Treating Trauma Disorders in Youth," Dr. Stevens will:
- Review the current evidence-based and promising evidence-informed treatment approaches for trauma-related disorders in children and adolescents;
- Help attendees understand the challenges of screening for and treating trauma-related disorders based on treatment setting (e.g., in school, a clinic office, or inpatient unit); and
- Examine the current shortcomings and limitations of evidence-based treatment of youth with trauma – especially youth with comorbidities (e.g., substance use disorders).

Dr. Stevens is also the chief of Outpatient Services at The Menninger Clinic and an assistant professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified in both adult and child and adolescent psychiatry.
