Menninger to Co-sponsor "Treating Trauma: Tending to the Healer & the Client"

The Menninger Clinic is pleased to co-sponsor, along with The Refuge, A Healing Place, the one-day workshop "Treating Trauma: Tending to the Healer & the Client" Friday, November 1, in Coral Gables, Fla.

 

The workshop aims to look at treating trauma and attachment issues with clients as well as the impact repeated exposure to others' trauma has on mental health professionals.

 

Representing Menninger will be Michael Groat, PhD, director of the Adult Division. He will present "Tending to the Healer: Promoting the Mentalizing Stance When Treating Trauma."

 

The workshop costs $25 and will be held at the Hyatt Regency, 50 Alhambra Plaza, Coral Gables, Florida 33134. It will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.

 

Five (5.0) continuing education units will be available for psychologists, social workers, nurses, marriage and family therapists and counselors.
