Menninger is pleased to announce that Thomas Ellis, PsyD, ABPP, former director of Psychology at Menninger, will deliver the next lecture in our Distinguished Lecturer Series.
Dr. Ellis will present "Rethinking Conventional Care with Suicidal Individuals: What You Should Know about Suicide-Specific Interventions" Friday, September 28, from 12 to 2 pm at Menninger.
This presentation will review the conventional approach to caring for suicidal individuals and present an alternate approach that prioritizes a collaborative working relationship combined with suicide-specific strategies with strong evidence of superiority to usual care. Ethical implications of this issue will be explored briefly, together with practical pointers for improving outcomes in both the near term and the long run.
Registration is limited to 90 attendees; so register today.
The lecture is $50 for professionals and $25 for students.
Continuing education credits will be available for physicians, psychologists, registered nurses, social workers, licensed professional counselors and addictions professionals.
