March is National Social Work Month, and to help celebrate it, Menninger will offer a continuing education event, Navigating the Ethical Challenges in Clinical Practice as Supervisor and Clinician, with Sandra Lopez, LCSW, ACSW, DCS, on Friday, March 29.

The Presentation

This 3-hour ethics presentation will define ethics and explore widely used ethical decision-making models in clinical practice. The focus will be on identifying key ethical issues and dilemmas that commonly challenge supervisors and clinicians in clinical practice and to explore the most effective strategies in addressing these situations.

Case vignettes will be integrated throughout the presentation for meaningful dialogue about the ethical challenges in clinical practice.

Lopez is a clinical professor in the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Houston. Her interests include ethical issues, trauma, grief and loss, professional self-care, cultural competency and clinical supervision.

3.0 ethics credits have been designated by The Menninger Clinic for social workers.
