Hope Adult Program

Number of beds & staffing
The Hope Adult Program has 30 beds.

Harrell Woodson, PhD, program director,  works with 60 mental health professionals on the treatment teams whose members provide a quality, cost-effective alternative to hospitalization with evidence-based and rehabilitative treatment approaches.

A full-time psychiatrist has a maximum of twelve cases; a full-time primary clinician has between six-and-eight cases.

A patient benefits in many ways from being treated at a teaching hospital. Trainees can bring in fresh ideas and outlooks; patients also benefit from teaching the trainees about their illness. On Hope, all trainees (residents or psychology post doctoral student) are required to attend clinical rounds, attend team meetings, sit in on family meetings, co-lead groups. If a resident, they will also be in charge of medications under the supervision of an attending psychiatrist.
