The Gathering Place

Located about one mile from Menninger, The Gathering Place is a psychosocial clubhouse that provides free psychosocial rehabilitative services to more than 300 clubhouse members with severe and persistent mental illness. The most prevalent diagnoses among our members are schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder and depression.
The program provides support to its adult members through:
  • Vocational skills training
  • A wellness program
  • Employment assistance
  • Recreational and social activities






The Gathering Place focuses on members' strengths rather than limitations in order to enhance life choices and facilitate more independent living.


Membership Requirements

To become a member of The Gathering Place, an individual must:
  1. Have a psychiatric diagnosis from a mental health professional;
  2. Be at least 18-years-old;
  3. Be following a treatment plan; and
  4. Not be a danger to themselves or others.
Prospective members must also complete a new member application and a release of information form, as well as ask their mental health provider to complete a new member referral form.

Located at 5310 S. Willow Drive, Houston, Texas, 77035, The Gathering Place is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
