Borderline personality disorder (BPD) research

Menninger partially funded and participated in a study at Baylor College of Medicine of 48 individuals with borderline personality disorders. It was the largest study of its kind. The result was identification of a brain signature that indicated borderline personality disorder.

The neuroscientific project was supported, in part, by Menninger donors.

The information will shape better treatments for a disease that accounts for 20 percent of all psychiatric hospitalizations.
