Dr. Walker assumed leadership of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment Service in 2018, following four years with the service as a staff psychiatrist. She is also an assistant professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine.
She is board certified in psychiatry and internal medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Walker is on the review panel for the Journal of Psychiatric Practice and has published articles related to research on pharmacogenomics, somatic symptoms and chronic pain in peer-reviewed journals.
Following graduation from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Mo., Dr. Walker completed a combined residency in internal medicine and psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, S.C. She earned associate degrees from Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.
