Menninger Clinicians to Offer Free Webinar on Interdisciplinary Assessments

Thursday, February 9, 2017

Menninger's next free webinar for mental health professionals, A Practical Guide to the Value of Interdisciplinary Assessments, will feature Jonathan Stevens, MD, MPH, Michelle Patriquin, PhD, and Harrell Woodson, PhD, reviewing two case studies:

  1. A 12-year-old girl who presented with developmental, attention, social and academic issues, as well as depressed mood, anxiety and a history of a provisional thought disorder and
  2. A 62-year-old man who presented with depressive symptoms and a history of previously treated major depressive and substance use disorders.

In both cases, interdisciplinary assessments allowed them to uncover critical pieces of information that helped the presenters provide accurate diagnoses and tailor recommendations for post-assessment treatment. The therapeutic process that occurred during these interdisciplinary assessments will also be discussed due to its importance in generating commitment and follow through from patients and families on treatment recommendations.

The webinar is February 28 from 12-1 pm CST.
