Cultivating Leaders in Mental Health Care
Getting the right care, right from the start, makes an invaluable impact on children and adults affected by mental illness.
As one of the nation’s leading psychiatric hospitals, Menninger offers an unmatched educational experience to post-graduate trainees in psychology, psychiatry, social work and nursing. Due to our unique clinical environment, our trainees leave The Clinic with a depth and breadth of knowledge not found elsewhere.
With fewer than half of U.S. counties having a mental health provider — and more people seeking treatment than ever before — it’s a critical time to invest in the education of tomorrow’s mental health leaders. Donors who support our training programs create access to skilled and compassionate caregivers who are ready to meet patients wherever they stand in their mental health journey.
Each year, we partner with our affiliate Baylor College of Medicine, as well as other local and national universities, to train 35 mental health professionals. In addition, we serve as a clinical rotation site for more than 100 undergraduate medical, nursing, pharmacy, recreation therapy and occupational therapy students, helping to inspire new career paths in mental health.
