A staff psychiatrist with our Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment Service
, Dr. Oyeniyi has special expertise in the fields of early onset psychosis, community outreach and graduate medical education. Her research interests focus on spirituality and mental illness in minority populations as well as the study of health disparities.
In 2018, she was named the University of Texas Dell Medical School at Austin Department of Psychiatry Faculty Member of the Year. That same year she also earned the University of Texas Medical Branch Teacher of Distinction Award.
She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians and the Texas Medical Association.
After completing her undergraduate degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, she earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed post-doctoral work at both Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center and University of Texas Dell Medical School at Austin.
